The Chinese Embassy in Tanzania Hosts Tax Exchange Conference for Chinese Enterprises

On August 23, 2024, a Tax Exchange Conference for Chinese Enterprises, hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Tanzania and organized by the Tanzania Chinese Enterprises Chamber of Commerce, was successfully held in Dar es Salaam, the capital of Tanzania. This conference aimed to promote the lawful and compliant operation of Chinese enterprises, strengthen communication and cooperation between Chinese enterprises and the Tanzania Revenue Authority, and boost the confidence of Chinese enterprises investing in Tanzania.  

Chinese Ambassador to Tanzania Chen Mingjian and Tanzania Revenue Authority Commissioner General Mondo attended and delivered speeches at the event. Ambassador Chen emphasized the importance of lawful and compliant operations for Chinese enterprises, noting that this conference provided a platform for in-depth exchanges between Chinese enterprises and the Tanzania Revenue Authority, which will help protect the legitimate rights and interests of these companies. He also expressed hope that such exchanges would further strengthen the confidence of Chinese enterprises in investing in Tanzania.  

In his address, Commissioner General Mondo stated that the Tanzania Revenue Authority highly values this tax exchange conference and had dispatched 20 officials, including representatives from five functional departments, to attend the meeting. He expressed his gratitude for the contributions of Chinese enterprises to Tanzania’s economic development and pledged to engage in in-depth discussions on tax issues to create a more favorable business environment.  

During the conference, officials from the Tanzania Revenue Authority provided a detailed overview of Tanzania’s tax laws, the latest policies, and procedural guidelines, and engaged in active exchanges with participants. Additionally, Mr. Huang Zaisheng, Chairman of SINO TAN Industrial Park, delivered a congratulatory speech on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce for Chinese Enterprises, expressing his appreciation for the successful hosting of the conference and for the support from all parties in promoting the growth of Chinese enterprises in Tanzania.  

The successful convening of this tax exchange conference has established an effective communication platform between Chinese enterprises and the Tanzania Revenue Authority, contributing to the further development of economic and trade cooperation between China and Tanzania.
